Hub Buys Insurance Brokerage Intercare

The deal comes at the heels of several other insurance transactions

Hub International Ltd. has purchased Intercare Insurance Solutions Inc., a San Diego-based insurance brokerage firm, continuing a flurry of insurance M&A activity.

Intercare, which offers employee benefits consulting and brokerage services, as well as property, casualty and 401(k) retirement plan consulting, will become part of Hub’s California operations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Chicago-based Hub provides property, casualty, life, health and employee benefits insurance.

Other insurance deals include Edgewood Partners Insurance Center’s purchase of Homeplace Insurance Brokers Inc., the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America’s acquisition of Reed Group and WellPoint Inc.’s (NYSE: WLP) Amerigroup Corp. buy.
