Hillenbrand Completes $545M Coperion Deal
Coperion makes compounding, extrusion and bulk material for the plastics, chemical and pharmaceutical industries
Hillenbrand Inc. (NYSE: HI) has completed its acquisition of Coperion Capital GmbH for $545 million, including $113.4 million in debt assumption and $130.3 million in pension liabilities.
Stuttgart, Germany-based Coperion manufactures compounding, extrusion and bulk material handling equipment for the plastics, chemical, food processing, pharmaceutical and aluminum industries.
Hillenbrand, headquartered in Batesville, Ind., makes and sells business-to-business products. The company also owns several businesses: Batesville Services, K-Tron, Rotex and TerraSource Global.
