GTCR Buys NewWave

GTCR made the deal through Rural Broadband Investments, one of its portfolio companies

Private equity firm GTCR LLC will buy NewWave Communications from Pamlico Capital.

NewWave, headquartered in Sikestron, Mo., provides high-speed broadband, video and voice services.

The deal will be done through GTCR’s portfolio company Rural Broadband Investments (RBI), a cable company. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

RBI was formed by GTCR and Phillip Spencer in 2012 to acquire broadband infrastructure assets in small and mid-sized communities. The company is currently pursuing additional acquisitions.

Chicago-based GTCR has invested in Curo Health Services, OneSource and Telecom Lease Advisors.
