LineRate develops software the helps companies scale networks to support web traffic

F5 Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: FFIV) is buying LineRate Systems, a software developer.

Louisville, Colo.-based LineRate develops products that help service providers support growing web traffic. The deal will allow F5 to expand its traffic-management capabilities.

F5, headquartered in Seattle, develops software for data centers, businesses, service providers, government entities and consumer brands. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
