Cantor Fitzgerald named David Stith as a managing director and head of leveraged finance and financial sponsor coverage, the New York-based financial services firm announced today.
Stith was most recently a managing director in the leveraged finance group of Merrill Lynch. He previously worked for Bear Stearns and Bank of America. He will be in charge of originating, structuring, marketing and executing leveraged finance deals and for covering the clients of financial sponsors. He will be based in New York.
Cantor Fitzgerald is in the midst of a rapid expansion. It hired George Goncalves as the head of its fixed income rates strategy. Lee Hetfield and Jason Kopcak joined the firm earlier this month as co-heads of its whole loan sales and trading division.
Cantor has hired more than 125 new staff since January 1 and will continue to expand its fixed income business, it said.
