Billtrust and Best Practices Systems Combine

The deal comes after Billtrust got a $25 million investment from Bain Capital Ventures

Billing service providers Billtrust and Best Practice Systems have agreed to merge. 

The two companies will provide billing services to more than two dozen industries. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Billtrust serves the utility and municipality markets, while Best Practice serves the insurance and healthcare sectors, among others. Best Practice offers clients billing services over mobile devices.

Hamilton, N.J.-based Billtrust made the move to acquire Best Practice after it got a $25 million capital investment from Bain Capital Ventures in November.  The investment was made so Billtrust could make acquisitions.
