Curtain Raiser:
Moody’s Chief Economist Mark Zandi, Presidential Adviser David Gergen and ABC Reporter Bob Woodruff to Keynote M&A East

1,300 dealmakers are expected Oct. 16 and 17 at the annual conference, hosted by ACG Philadelphia. It’s the largest chapter-hosted ACG event on the east coast.

For any dealmaker looking to network this week, Philadelphia is the place to be.

The City of Brotherly Love is once again the location for the largest ACG chapter-hosted conference on the east coast for the tenth year in a row. ACG Philadelphia's 2012 M&A East Conference: Celebrating a Decade of Deals will be held Oct. 16 and 17, and Mergers & Acquisitions will be on the ground, covering the event.

Editor-in-chief Mary Kathleen Flynn will be conducting exclusive one-on-one video interviews with high-profile dealmakers, and assistant managing editor Anthony Noto will be filing articles from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, where more than 1,300 dealmakers, including leading corporate development officers, and middle-market CEOs, are expected.

Featured keynote speakers include Mark Zandi, chief economist and co-founder of Moody’s Economy.com; David Gergen, who has served as an adviser to four U.S. presidents (Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton) and currently appears as a senior political analyst for CNN; and Bob Woodruff, ABC News broadcast reporter.

Once the ACG golf outing wraps up Tuesday afternoon, there’s Dealsource, during which private equity firms meet with investment banks and limited partners in pre-scheduled meetings. Then Peter Hill, managing director of Mufson Howe Hunter, will kick off the event with an opening panel session titled “Strategic Buyers - A Look Behind the Curtain.” The panel will address the best practices of strategic buying and offer insights into how sellers can best position themselves for a sale.
