Infrastructure: ABB Buys APS Technology

The deal gives ABB optical character recognition and gate automation capabilities

ABB (NYSE: ABB) is buying APS Technology Group, an automation technology company, for an undisclosed amount.

San Diego-based APS provides optical character recognition and gate automation capabilities, which will be added to ABB. ABB expects the deal to further improve the safety, productivity and efficiency of its port operations.

ABB, headquartered in Zurich, is a crane automation company that provides its products primarily to the marine industry.
