Mocking the SEC

I'd like to extend to Phillip Goldstein, of Bulldog Investors, a standing offer to be a contributing blogger. Reading through the comment section of proposed SEC rules can be a numbing exercise. Goldstein, though, submitted a gem when he weighed in on proposed changes to rule 205-3 of the Investment Advisors Act, which is seeking to raise the 'net worth' and 'assets under management' thresholds for those who can enlist advisors that charge performance fees.
After applauding the Commission for barring the average investor from accessing performance-based advisors, Goldstein does his best Ted Dibiase, saying that while critics will nitpick the nanny-style regulation, "they should get over it."
With tongue firmly placed in cheek, he continues: "Whether it is doctors or lawyers, or as Eliot Spitzer knows, even hookers -- the rich and famous will always be able to gain access to the best service providers. Why should it be any different for investment advisors."

Of course, Goldstein has long history with the SEC, having battled the Commission in 2006, when he ultimately got a Federal Appeals Court to undo the SEC's hedge fund registration efforts. Two years earlier, he submitted a comment comparing the Commission to a turtle that spent hours trying to climb up a wall. "It never succeeded because turtles cannot climb walls," he wrote at the time, inferring a shared "inability to grasp a basic truth."
In his more recent scribe, Goldstein is openly mocking the SEC, and taunts the Commission by noting that a "sizeable bequest" keeps him on the right side of the proposed thresholds. "Call me elitist, but if the SEC allows every Tom, Dick and Harry to have access to the best investment managers, what is the point of accumulating wealth?"
The only thing he's missing is that Ted Dibiase trademark laugh.

They have started after 90's with one more founder except this Philip. This Philip is in this field with a very good track record of time and attendance. He has worked hard to achieve the goals and make this company a big dream. His statement here clearly says it " the rich and famous can avail what they want".
