Fair Warning: You Can’t Annul a Bad Deal

Dealmaking in Vegas -- if this doesn’t manage to kickstart the M&A market, I don’t know what else will. I’ll only remind the folks at InterGrowth this week that you can’t annul a bad deal, so let’s try to avoid any Britney Spears / Jason Alexander- type marriages while we’re here.

In the meantime, I wanted to plug the Mergers & Acquisitions panel, which is taking place tomorrow, May 13th from 2:00PM to 2:45PM. Shameless or not, it’s going to be a strong panel, as you can probably tell by the participants.

David McKenna, Managing Director, Advent International
Mark Copman, Head of Corporate Development, 3M Corp.
Jeff Raich, Managing Director, Moelis & Co.
Craig Staub, Managing Principal, Odyssey Investment Partners
Lawrence Golub, Founder, Golub Capital
Brian McCarthy, Partner, Skadden Arps

The theme is operating in a down market. We’ll be covering the debt markets, buyer and seller expectations, visibility, and other issues facing all pros in this environment. I also want to preemptively open the floor up to our readers. We’ll have a question and answer segment at the end of the panel, but if you’re shy and don’t like crowds, please send along any questions that might be applicable. Even if you can’t make it, send along any questions and there’s a good chance you’ll read about it at Mergersunleashed.

Hope to see you here!
